Last 5 minutes of 4th quarter:
Rubio air balls.
Tucker misses 2 ft.
Mitchell turnover then he fouls Tucker.
Gobert gets the ball and his life stripped away by Harden.
Dynfunctional 4th, loved every second.
[–][DAL] Wang Zhizhi suzukigun4life 24 points 4 hours ago
That wide open airball on the 3 made me lose my mind. Late in the game, chance to take the lead and you airball it? What the fuck!
[–]Bucks CompleteSpud 23 points 4 hours ago*
the jazz had like 5 airballs this game, straight baffling shooting at times
[–]Jazz rbmw263 228 points 4 hours ago
It was right there for us. It hurts
[–][MIL] Giannis Antetokounmpo WIN011 132 points 4 hours ago
And not the only game that’s the case unfortunately
[–][UTA] Derrick Favors BusSeatFabric 77 points 3 hours ago
A couple of those open 3s go in and the Jazz are up 3-2. But that was Houston's strategy. Live with the open 3s for anyone not Ingles, Mitchell, or Korver.
[–]Rockets recursion8 49 points 3 hours ago
Royce ONeal and Crowder killed us the last two games.
[–][HOU] Steve Francis 2ToTooTwoFish 267 points 4 hours ago
What a clutch steal though by Harden on 5 fouls.
[–]Knicks GherriC 38 points 4 hours ago
gotta give Harden credit for the confidence, going for a rip when he has 5 fouls
[–][TOR] Pascal Siakam Kenji_Of_East 58 points 4 hours ago*
Those 3 steals in 30 seconds must be incredibly painful for Jazz fans. Rockets literally stole that game from them.
But this game was a total slog fest. Unsuccessful offense for the most part and pretty much all defense. I love it!
[–]Rockets Schlopez 20 points 4 hours ago
Me too man. I love grind it out games and it’s even better when we win
[–][POR] Eric Maynor BlazeBloom 437 points 4 hours ago
The 4th quarter Utah turnovers were bad enough, but the immediate frustration fouls afterwards too? They had their chances.
[–]lk-1993 76 points 4 hours ago
I was thinking the same exact thing! They lucked out when PJ missed both free throws but then foolishly fouled again quickly when the rockets got it back. Piss poor execution in the end
[–]76ers SlappyBagg 42 points 4 hours ago
Just a huge lack of discipline, should have been more mature than that
[–]Nets NetsBetsSets 620 points 4 hours ago
Utah's offense is the worst playoff offense I've ever seen...since Indiana a few days ago
[–]Bucks CompleteSpud 18 points 4 hours ago
every single opportunity houston gave them, they fucked it up, straight baffling to watch
[–]NBA elezhope 112 points 4 hours ago
Gobert needs to work on his post game.
[–]Bucks CompleteSpud 221 points 4 hours ago
he needs to work on catching/holding the fucking ball for a start
[–][MIL] Giannis Antetokounmpo WIN011 330 points 4 hours ago
Gobert got dicked hard this series
[–]Wizards MoreWhoreLore 248 points 4 hours ago
Been happening every time he plays the Rockets lately.
[–]Jazzs Classic 141 points 4 hours ago
Yeah i think he got better as the series went on, but this is not a good matchup for him
[–]Jazz rbmw263 107 points 4 hours ago
This is so far from accurate. He was crazy good in game 3 4 and 5 on defense. Look what we did to their offense
[–]Wizards livefreeordont 65 points 4 hours ago
Gobert played well until Capela got rid of his virus
[–]Nuggets truch90 48 points 4 hours ago
People.dont actually watch the games here man, they only see the box scores. Rudy was great for a lot of this series
[–]Rockets chase-316 34 points 4 hours ago
Gobert was amazing, some of the best post defense I’ve seen in a series in a while.
[–]Rockets PineappleOnPizzaPls 48 points 4 hours ago
Yeah it may not be a good match up but he did a really good job defending Harden against his floaters. Harden barely made any over him. He’s gonna be feasting again with his floaters against shorter centers tho
[–]Jazz Zusuf 138 points 4 hours ago
The Rockets in general are not a good matchup for the Jazz
[–]Jazzs Classic 112 points 4 hours ago
They're not a good matchup for anyone
[–]shadracko 17 points 3 hours ago
Agreed. Rockets are playing really well.
I think clearly Denver has trouble against the Rockets, Utah perhaps a bit less so.
[–][BOS] Rajon Rondo devic3 301 points 4 hours ago
This Donovan Mitchell performance…it’s not good.
[–]Celtics TheTurtleOne 26 points 4 hours ago
Mitchell baby what is u doin
[–]Rockets streetlightnings 12 points 4 hours ago
Wanted to one-up Westbrook
[–]Rockets jmbourn45 169 points 4 hours ago
[–]Heat JmanAus 207 points 4 hours ago
[–]Raptors VantablackSurgeon 122 points 4 hours ago*
Everyone: LMAO Westbrick is the most inefficient shooter in the playoffs.
Donovan Mitchell: Am I a joke to you?
[–]Thunder RussWestbrookMVP2k17 82 points 4 hours ago
C'mon man, we're already dead!
[–]Thunder kiwianab 37 points 4 hours ago
i keep wanting it to be over but then today all these new lillard quotes got me fucked up
[–]Jazz sClassic 958 points 4 hours ago
I love him but Donovan was straight trash this game
[–]NBA drn8 34 points 4 hours ago
5:1 turnover to assist ratio
[–][DAL] Wang Zhizhi suzukigun4life 325 points 4 hours ago
4/22. Fucking Yikes
[–]76ers ClozeQueue 69 points 4 hours ago
He was just tryna shoot the date
[–]Rockets streetlightnings 35 points 4 hours ago
Saw Harden's 3-20 on 4/20 and decided to one-up him
[–]San Diego Rockets blueberryy 73 points 4 hours ago
just walked straight off the floor too
[–]Rockets Roberg13 59 points 4 hours ago
I mean I would too.
[–]Nets Bandwagon HugeRection 40 points 4 hours ago
Lots of players do so. It shouldn't be a requirement to shake hands and exchange pleasantries after being eliminated from the playoffs. It's great if they do, but not a big deal if they don't in my opinion.
[–][HOU] P.J. Tucker dustybagels 36 points 4 hours ago
Harden did it last year. I don't mind it. Can't say I would be able to stay out there and congratulate the other team on kicking my ass
[–]Bucks RecentAdagio 262 points 4 hours ago
I feel like Utah was doing really well with Rubio running offense in the fourth and then struggled hard once they moved Rubio off ball and had Mitchell run the show late.
This was a winnable game for the Jazz, Rubio was pretty spectacular, Mitchell didn't need to go hero ball this game, they could have won playing balanced offense.
[–]Jazz brettcg16 66 points 4 hours ago
Exactly. Have Rubio start the offense, and hopefully end up with a good Mitchell shot attempt.
Instead, we had Mitchell either force a bad shot or pass to ppl who probably shouldn't be shooting.
[–]zuruka1 99 points 4 hours ago
Mitchell always goes heroball though, he hasn't yet learned how to play any other way.
[–]Jazz satan_in_high_heels 27 points 4 hours ago
Shouldve been benched down the stretch honestly
[–]Magic AurumTP 53 points 4 hours ago
it’s almost like they rely too heavily on a young player that can’t carry the load they want rn
[–]Raptors realsomalipirate 27 points 4 hours ago
He's still pretty young and seems to have that hunger to improve his game, I'm hoping he continues to add to his game (becoming a better finisher should be the start).
[–]narmerguy 28 points 4 hours ago
The thing about Mitchell listening to Kobe say "if you're 3 for 20, you never know if the 21st will go in", that works if you're shooting shots that are your game. Mitchell keeps taking step back 3's...that's not his game. You're 0 for 9 on 3's not only because you're having a bad night from 3 but because you're also taking shots that are not your game. People like Dame and Harden can hit those shots because that's their game...
[–][ATL] Dominique Wilkins CounterInsanity 67 points 4 hours ago
Yeah. But 2nd year player leading a team against a Finals contender is still something. Utah needs another scorer, too much is on Mitchell. Need a bit of help.
[–]Raptors matt_greene25 17 points 4 hours ago
He needs to learn to trust his teammates.Crowder, O'neal, and Rubio (outside his three point bricks) were able to convert decently well enough to win tbh.
[–]imturningjapanese 22 points 4 hours ago
As a Rockets fan I like Donovan so much. He's a pro and he knows he is on his way up in his career. It's an emotional experience and it shows how much he really cares about getting bounced in the first round. He's going to have a lot of success and I look forward to watching him become a premier player in the NBA.
[–][HOU] James Harden notStoner 37 points 4 hours ago
Am I crazy for thinking guys are being too hard on a 2nd year guy? Mitchell didn’t perform amazing, but he gave it his all and tried to lead. This was a learning experience for the guy
[–]Lakers GokutheAnteater 70 points 4 hours ago
Donovan looks like he’s gone cry
[–]Mdgt_Pope 61 points 4 hours ago
Because he sucked.
This will be good for him, though - he’s gonna work hard this summer.
[–]NBA-Gaia- 148 points 4 hours ago
I can't believe the Jazz threw the last FOUR possessions of the game away. Wow.
[–]Jazz JesusCripe 16 points 4 hours ago
That last minute and a half made me lose my will to live.
[–]Rockets HakeemOlajuwon 18 points 4 hours ago
This hurts the Utah Jazz chances of winning in seven.
[–][DAL] Wang Zhizhi suzukigun4life 657 points 4 hours ago*
Held Houston under 100 points until the final 30 seconds
Allowed only 3 free throws to James Harden until the final minute
Forced 17 turnovers
Saw Harden, CP3 and Gordon shoot 38% from the floor
AND STILL LOST
[–]Early Tree 369 points 4 hours ago
They need to learn how to put the ball in the basket.
[–]Mavericks fuckajitpai2 22 points 4 hours ago
Got to feel bad for Rubio.
[–]Wizards livefreeordont 153 points 4 hours ago
Rubio of all people was the only one getting buckets
[–]Timberwolves The_Sports_Guy 98 points 4 hours ago
When Rubio is one of your best shooters, you're fucked
[–]Wizards livefreeordont 55 points 4 hours ago
He was the best shooter in the whole game! Clutch bucket after clutch bucket.... Until the airball
[–]knight4 39 points 4 hours ago
Rockets are an underrated defensive team. Since the break they've been locking up like they did last year.
[–]Jazz johnstocktonshorts 101 points 4 hours ago
Our defense is good it’s our offense that struggles. Houston is good on both ends. Second best team in the league.
[–]Spurs CheesyBasil132 185 points 4 hours ago
Doggy-Style Defense actually works. Can’t wait to see Curry humping Harden
[–]Raptors Ronshol 42 points 4 hours ago
I feel like this works better when you got fucking Rudy Gobert in the post. Will Bogut or Looney be as effective?
[–]Bucks CompleteSpud 56 points 4 hours ago
yeah, the defense requires team effort rather than one person hugging his ass cheeks
[–]Rockets swaggy_p 7 points 4 hours ago
Hats off to the Jazz. They played really well and just got a bad draw in the first round. Really believe they would have beat any other team outside of GS.
[–][HOU] Chris Paul lir4yl 28 points 4 hours ago
Despite the win, the past three games showed that we are vulnerable, especially since it seemed like our offense went to shit due to how the Jazz played Harden defensively. I hope that we figure it out.
[–]Suns zephah 15 points 4 hours ago
On a slightly positive note, it kinda shows that the Rockets are still a semi-functional team with Harden having an off night
[–]Bulls chief_sitass 46 points 4 hours ago
DONT TOUCH THE TOP OF MY HEAD
[–]Raptors joshgc 17 points 4 hours ago
Don’t touch the top of CP3 head, come on!
[–]Rockets talknojutsu312 119 points 4 hours ago
CANT’T WAIT TO FACE THE CLIPPERS
[–]mikeyj022 19 points 4 hours ago
Can you fucking imagine lmao?
[–]Rockets longhornmd 11 points 4 hours ago
Were in trouble if we play like that against the warriors
